Altering the CSS for your website requires elevated permissions. Please contact us if you would like access to your website's CSS.
The CSS for your site is compiled from numerous smaller files, called LESS files. Of these, you can be granted editing access to two LESS files - the Variables and the Custom file.
The Variables file makes it easy to edit some pieces of your site that are commonly changed, such as the color of your navigation menus or the size of header fonts. Someone with entry level CSS skills can make changes to the Variable file.
The Custom file is where you would enter totally custom CSS edits, such as borders around rows, making every image on a site have rounded corners, moving your navigation to a different place in the header, etc.
Both of these files are located in 020 [Your Agency] Content > Building Blocks > System > Templates > Assets > LESS files. You will need to download them, make and save your edits in code editing software, and then re-upload the file into Tridion.
Tip: keep a backup copy of your LESS files, in case your edits don't work as intended and you need to roll back your changes.
Publishing the CSS is easy, there is just one file you'll need to publish. This file is located at:
050 [Your Agency] Website > root > css > core.css
Always publish to Staging before publishing to Live, in case your edits don't work as intended.
