Personnel component

Below are the fields to complete for a Personnel component:

1. Name: enter a name for your component here. 
2. Schema: select Personnel
3. Prefix: if your person uses a prefix, such as Mr. or Mrs., enter it here. 
4. First name: enter the first name for your person
5. Middle Initial: enter their middle initial, if known
6. Last name: enter the last name for your person
7. Suffix: enter any suffix's, such as Sr. or Jr.
8. Title: enter any titles, such as PhD
9. Organization: enter the name of the organization this person is with
10. Organization URL: enter the URL for the organization
11. Email: enter an email address for the person
12. Phone: enter a phone number for the person
13. Alternate Phone #: if needed, enter an alternate phone number for the person
14. Alternate Phone # Label: enter a label for the alternate phone number, such as "work" or "cell"
15. Photo: this is the photo that will appear on the Personnel Detail page. To select a photo, click the browse folder icon , navigate to the folder where the photo is located, and select it.
16. Thumbnail: this is the photo that will appear on the Personnel List page. To select a photo, click the browse folder icon , navigate to the folder where the photo is located, and select it.
17. Biography: enter the biography for the person here, this is the text that will appear on the Personnel Detail page. This is a rich-text field that accepts bold font, italics, bulleted lists, and more. 

Save and close your component.

Tip: Make sure all your thumbnail photos are the exact same size before uploading them into Tridion, otherwise the rows of pictures on your Personnel List page will look uneven.

The Personnel List page renders Personnel components in rows of 3 people each. The fields are rendered in the following way for each person:  Create this Page  Sample Page

• First, the Thumbnail (#16) is shown for the person
• Prefix (#3), First Name (#4), Middle Initial (#5), Last Name (#6), and Suffix (#7) all come together to form the name of the person, shown under the thumbnail.
• Title (#8) displays underneath the person's name.
• The Organization (#9) and Organization URL (#10) create the link under the person's title.
• Their Email Address (#11) comes next, followed by the Phone (#12)
• Finally, if you entered an Alternate Phone (#13) and Alternate Phone # Label (#14), those will display last under the thumbnail

The Personnel Detail page is built from a Personnel component, and displays in a biography-type page for a single person. The fields are rendered as follows:  Create this Page  Sample Page

• First, the Prefix (#3), First Name (#4), Middle Initial (#5), Last Name (#6), and Suffix (#7) all come together to form the name of the person at the top of the page.
• Title (#8) displays underneath the person's name.
• Their Biography (#17) follows that and takes up most of the page.
• On the right, their Photo (#15) appears
• Under their photo, the Organization (#9) and Organization URL (#10) create the link under the person's photo.
• Their Email Address (#11) comes next, followed by the Phone (#12)
• Finally, if you entered an Alternate Phone (#13) and Alternate Phone # Label (#14), those will display last under the thumbnail

The Personnel Phone-Email Directory template renders Personnel component content in rows, in a datagrid format. The fields are rendered in the following way for each person:  Create this Page  Sample Page

• The contents of the Name column come from the Prefix (#3), First Name (#4), Middle Initial (#5), Last Name (#6), and Suffix (#7) fields.
• The contents of the Title column come from the Title (#8) field.
• The contents of the Email Address column come from the Email Address (#11) field
• The contents of the Phone column come from the Phone (#12) field
