This optional header box, called a Toggle Box, can be used for highlighting whatever content you would like. This is a rich-text field, so you can add links, images, bullets, etc.
A to Z Index components are pretty easy to make, just fill out the following three fields:
Name: enter a name for your component here. (This field does not display anywhere on your website, but is used to organize files within Tridion.)
Schema: select A to Z Index
Index List Type: select the keyword that will drive your index
Main keyword: All Tridion websites come with a default Main keyword already created. We recommend using this for the main A to Z Index on your site.
Other keywords: If you'd like to create additional A to Z Indexes for your site, you will need to create additional keywords for each index. You can do so by clicking the green plus sign at the right end of the Index List Type field. This will open a pop-up window. Fill in the Value field with the name of your new index and then click Save and Close. The new keyword will now appear in the Index List Type field. Click the radio button to the left of your new keyword.
When you've completed all the fields, Save and Close your A to Z Index component.
Component Template Options
The A to Z Index has only one component template that can be applied to it, which is shown below highlighted in red. The template renders content in the following ways:
A to Z Index Navigation Bar: At the top of the page a clickable A to Z navigation will appear. The system only generates an alphabet letter for A to Z Index Categories (#3) that are represented on the page. So if there are any alphabet letters that are not represented by a category, they will not be listed in the A to Z bar either. (In the picture above, examples of missing category letters are A, B, D, E, F, etc.)
A to Z Index alphabet sections: For letters that are represented in the A - Z Index Navigation bar (#1), that letter will also appear on the page as an underlined section heading.
A to Z Index Categories: A to Index Categories appear in alphabetical order on the page. A to Z Index Categories shown in the example above include "Component Types" and "Content Types." Under each category are links to web pages that have been assigned to that category.
Category Links: These are the links that have been assigned to the A to Z Index Categories (#3). The links shown on the A to Z Index page are broken into two parts - a title (A) and a description (B):
The information that generates the link titles and descriptions comes from the associated page's metadata. The title for the link comes from the Page Display Name field (A) and the description comes from the Dublin Core Description field (B):
