Scheduling Content to Publish or Unpublish

Sometimes we need to publish (or unpublish) content at times that are inconvenient. Thankfully Tridion offers us the ability to schedule content to publish/unpublish. To use this feature, follow the steps below:

1. In the 050 portion of your Tridion publication, find the page or component that needs to be published.
2. Right-click on it and select Publishing > Publish or Publishing > Unpublish, depending on which action you need to take.
3. The publishing pop-up window will appear. 
4. First, on the left side of the pop-up window, check the environment you wish to publish/unpublish to (Staging or Live).
5. Then, on the right side of the pop-up, select the option named Publish Content Later.
   
   
   
6. To set the date in the date field, click the Select Date button. This will open the pop-up window shown below. 
7. In the pop-up, select the day that the content should be published on. 
8. In the Time field, you should also set the time in HH:MM:SS format. Please note that this field uses 24 hour time, so if you wish for your item to publish/unpublish at 10:00 p.m. at night, you would enter 22:00:00 in this field.
   
   
   
9. Click OK to close the date picker pop-up window.
10. You will be returned to the first pop-up window. The date field will display the date and time you entered in the date picker pop-up, so you can confirm the time entered is correct.
    
    
    
11. If you are happy with all the settings, click the Publish or Unpublish button to schedule your content.
12. If you wish, you can also check the publishing queue to confirm that your content is scheduled. It will show "Scheduled to Publish" as the status in the "State" field.

Tip: If you published or unpublished a page, you may also need to republish your navigation. You may want to schedule that to republish one or two minutes after your other items.
