A minor update to the General Content schema
New link support added in the feature description

One of the most commonly asked for feature additions to the General Content schema was the ability to add links to the description field when creating Feature Rotators. Originally the newly re-purposed Feature Rotators were solely to be used to elevate interior content to the surface, capitalizing on Tridion's ability to re-use content in a variety of ways. But we realize that not everyone cares to use the rotators in the same manner, and instead want the flexibility to add links to their Feature Description content.
And so we've delivered!
The Feature Description field has been updated to support basic rich text, allowing for the creation of links in your content. You can create hyperlinks to external sources or component links to other components used throughout your site, including binary links to PDFs and standard content links.
We're intentionally keeping the rich text options limited because of the way the Feature Description field is used in its various component presentations — Feature Rotators, Feature Spotlights, and Feature Jumbotrons. This field is meant to be kept short and sweet, and aid in bringing people to your content deeper within your site; and not intended for longer formatted content, like lists, tables, and including additional images.
This change takes effect immediately, and you can now include hyperlinks in your feature content. If you have questions, please reach out to anyone in the Tridion Support Team.
