Public Parking

There are a number of public parking options for those visiting the Minnesota State Capitol Complex. A blue P symbol indicates available public parking space in parking lots and ramps. See the tabs below for complete information on parking. More parking maps can be found on our Maps page.

Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station - Lot AA temporarily closed

EV Charging stations are located in Ramp F on the 1st Level.

Electric Vehicle owners visiting the Capitol Complex must pay for their parking at the pay station and may plug-in for a maximum of 4 hours.

Where to Park - Lot AA Temporarily Closed
Metered parking is available at the following locations on the Capitol Complex:

Andersen Parking Ramp (PDF) (south of 35E, off Cedar St. and E. 10th St.) is adjacent to Andersen Building.

Centennial Parking Ramp (PDF) (Orange Level, east of the Centennial Office Building, access from Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard), in proximity to:

Metered parking is controlled by Admin Facilities Management at 651-201-3062. These state parking facilities are monitored and enforced by The Department of Public Safety, Capitol Security Division. Capitol Security is also available to provide an escort service to your vehicle. Call 651-296-6741 to request an escort, allow up to 20 minutes for the escort to arrive.
Street Parking
Metered city street parking is available at the following locations:
- Aurora Avenue, north of Sears, off Rice Street (Lot AA - Temporarily Closed)
- Cedar Street, east and west sides, front of the Centennial Office Building
- John Ireland Boulevard, east and west sides, front of the Transportation Building
- Sherburne Avenue, one block north of the State Capitol Building between Cedar and Park Streets

Disability Parking

Public disability parking is available throughout the Capitol Complex. This parking is close to building accessibility entrances. Vehicles must display either a disability parking certificate or a disability license plate issued by the Department of Public Safety.

Bicycle Racks
Bicycle racks on the Minnesota State Capitol Complex are available in the following locations:
- 14th St Ramp - Bicycle rack in ramp, 1st Level.
- Administration Building - Bicycle rack at building entrance on Sherburne Ave and also in Administration Parking Ramp, B Level.
- Andersen Building - Bicycle rack at building entrance on Cedar Street.
- Andersen Ramp - Bicycle rack in ramp, 1st Level.
- Aurora Promenade - Bicycle rack northwest corner of promenade.
- Centennial Office Building - Bicycle racks at building entrances on Cedar St and W. Central Park Place.
- Freeman Office Building/Ag Health Lab - Bicycle racks between these two buildings.
- Lot N - Bicycle rack on south side of lot.
- Lot U/W - Bicycle racks on median in between lots.
- Minnesota History Center - Bicycle rack on east side of building.
- Minnesota Senate Building- Bicycle rack on corner of Sherburne Ave and Park Street.
- Minnesota State Capitol - Bicycle rack on Northeast corner of Promenade.
- State Office Building - Bicycle rack near the building entrance on north side.
- Transportation Building - Bicycle racks at building entrances on John Ireland Blvd and off Rice St by Ramp F.
- Veterans Service Building - Bicycle racks at 12th St building entrance in courtyard.

How to Pay
State-owned visitor parking locations on the Capitol Complex are equipped with parking pay stations. Choices for payment include Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards, $1 and $5 bills, as well as coins. Parking can be paid at a rate of $2.00 per hour or $8.00 for an all-day rate.

Easy to follow screen prompts provide instructions and each transaction generates a receipt showing the expiration time with the stall number for reference. Customers can add time from any pay station on the Capitol Complex. Refunds or Change will not be given for pay station transactions.
