What We Do

The Department of Administration (Admin) provides enterprise leadership across core government operations. We manage the state's real estate portfolio, state facilities and fleet, enterprise procurement and contracting, and insurance to improve efficiency and reduce risk. Admin's leadership extends to setting standard for grants administration and sustainability, delivering vital demographic data, and suppling shared financial and HR services for certain small agencies. We operate the the Capitol Complex, support small businesses pursuing government contracts, oversee historic preservation, provide surplus services, and ensure access to state programs through language translation services. Admin also supports both government and the public by educating about access and protection of government data, protecting archaeological resources, providing collaboration and dispute resolution resources, and advancing independence and advocacy for Minnesotans with disabilities.
