ST. PAUL - Members of the public are invited to bid on a variety of surplus goods at a State of Minnesota auction taking place on Saturday, November 15 in Arden Hills. The auction will include approximately 100 cars and trucks, automotive shop equipment, band saws and table saws, hand tools, sporting goods and toys, a snow blower, a stump grinder, various abandoned airport and property room items, and much more.
The auction opens for inspection and registration at 8 a.m. at the Department of Administration Fleet and Surplus Services building at 5420 Old Highway 8, located on the southeast corner of Interstate 35W and Ramsey County Road I in Arden Hills. Bidding begins at about 9:30 a.m. All items are sold as-is, where-is; sales are final and must be settled in full with cash or personal check the day of the auction. A government-issued picture ID is required.
Convenient, quick and easy registration and bidding numbers are available online. The only requirements are a computer with an internet connection and a printer. Simple instructions are on the 'Auctions' link of the Surplus Services website, at www.mnsurplus.org. Current customers of the state's MinnBid internet auction service can get a bidding card online in just seconds.
The state conducts about 12 surplus goods auctions each year and also sells surplus continuously online at www.minnbid.org. An auction calendar for 2014 is available online at www.mnsurplus.org. The 2014 live auction season ends on December 6 with an auction in Grand Rapids.
