Required Training

These trainings are required of all new employees:

Code of Ethics/Code of Conduct

All executive branch state employees (as defined in M.S. 43A.02, subd. 22) are covered by the provisions of M.S. 43A.38 regarding acceptance of gifts and favors; use of confidential information; use of state property; and conflicts of interest.  The objectives of the Code of Conduct policies are to: improve accountability, align with internal control processes, ensure the accuracy and reliability of the state's comprehensive annual financial report, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of other state and federal reports. You are required to register for and take the online training which is available through the “Learning” link in Employee Self Service.  Please follow the directions below to enroll.   * Complete within two weeks of hire. 

Please be advised, as required by Statewide Operating Policy 0103-01 Code of Conduct, designated employees must certify annually to affirm their responsibilities under the Code of Conduct and their commitment to abide by the Code of Conduct.

Enrolling through "Learning" in Self Service

You must use Internet Explorer

The steps to register are easy:

  1. Using INTERNET EXPLORER, log in to State of MN Self-Service http://www.s4web.state.mn.us/employee/signon.html )
  2. Click on Enterprise Learning Magmt (ELM)
  3. In "Quick Links" click on "Find Learning" and press Etner
  4. Type "Ethics" in the Title box and then press Enter.  
  5. In the list, find the class you need to take.  Click on the class name.
  6. Click on Enroll
  7. If it’s an eLearning class, then click on Launch

Harassment and Descrimination Prohibited (#1436) and Sexual Harassment Prohibited Policy #1329

We all deserve a workplace where we feel safe and supported.  At Administration, we want to cultivate a work environment where every team member is treated with dignity and respect.  An important part of that work is to provide you with the policies and tools you need to thrive.  To that end, employees are required to review and acknowledge the state policies (HR/LR Policies #1436 and #1329).  You are required to take the online training which is available through the Enterprise Learning Mgmt link in Employee Self Service.    * Note that completion is required within two weeks of employment.

  2. Click on Enterprise Learning Magmt (ELM)

  4. Type "harassment" in the Title box and then press Enter.  
  5. In the list, find course code G02ADMHR1436FY20.  Click on the class name.
  6. Click on Enroll
  7. To launch training, scroll to the bottom of Class Progress page and click on "Launch"
  8. Contact HR office at HR.Services.MMB@state.mn.us us for written instructions to follow for completion of class.

Respectful Workplace Policy #1432

The State of Minnesota is committed to providing a positive environment in which all staff, members of the public and others doing business with the state are treated with professionalism and respect.  To that end, employees are required to review and acknowledge HR/LR Policy #1432 Respectful Workplace.  You are required to register for and take the online training, which is available through the Enterprise Learning Mgmt link in Employee Self Service.

Enrolling through "Learning" in Self Service

You must use Internet Explorer

The steps to register are easy:

  1. Using INTERNET EXPLORER, log in to State of MN Self-Service http://www.s4web.state.mn.us/employee/signon.html )
  2. Click on Enterprise Learning Magmt (ELM)
  3. In "Quick Links" click on "Find Learning" and press Etner
  4. Type "respectful" in the Title box and then press Enter.  
  5. In the list, find course code G10MMBRWPEMP2018V2.  Click on the class name.
  6. Click on Enroll
  7. To launch training, scroll to the bottom of Class Progress page and click on "Launch"
