Appeals Self-Help Clinic

Appeals Self-Help Clinic

  • The clinic will be scheduled once per month (on the 3rd Thursday* - 1:30 pm-4: 30 pm) at the State Law Library in St. Paul.
  • This is a brief advice, walk-in clinic for people who are representing themselves.
    • Clinic customers may check-in beginning at 1:00 pm on the day of the clinic. We use a lottery system to determine who sees the attorney first, second, etc. If you arrive at 1:00 pm, you will draw a number to determine the order in which you see the attorney. Arriving before 1:00 pm does not guarantee you a particular position on the sign-up list. Customers who arrive after 1:00 pm will be added to the list as time allows.
    • Priority may be given to first-time attendees.
    • We anticipate that participants will meet with an attorney for ~30 minutes; the amount of time may vary based on the number of attendees.
    • If time runs out, it is possible that some people who attend will not be able to meet with an attorney.
  • Limited telephone attendance will be available for those not able to travel to St. Paul.
  • There is no income-qualification required for attendance.
  • Please bring any paperwork you have that is related to your case.
  • The clinic attorney is not required to represent you in your case.
  • IMPORTANT: Attending the clinic does not extend your time to appeal.
