Jury Instructions

Minnesota's Jury Instruction Guides are published by Thomson-West. They can be found on Westlaw (available on the public access computers in the Law Library) and in print as part of the Minnesota Practice Series. Unfortunately, they are not freely available on the Internet.

Our library retains all previous versions of jury instructions, including superseded pocket parts. Please ask a librarian for assistance locating previous versions.

Prior to their publication in the Minnesota Practice Series, there was no official compilation of Minnesota jury instructions.

  • Minnesota Jury Instruction Guides, Civil (CIVJIG), 6th ed. Thomson-West, 2014 Reference Desk KFM5480 .M53. (Vols. 4-4A Minnesota Practice).
  • Minnesota Jury Instruction Guides, Criminal (CRIMJIG), 6th ed. Thomson-West, 2014 Reference Desk and Reserve Room KFM5480 .M53. (Vols. 10-10A Minnesota Practice).

To find pattern jury instructions for other jurisdictions, search the online catalog for the subject heading Instructions to Juries and your jurisdiction. For example: Instructions to Juries Wisconsin.
