Appointed to the Second Judicial District Court in September 1998 by Governor Arne Carlson.  Elected in 2000.

Appointed to the Court of Appeals in June 2008 by Governor Tim Pawlenty.  Elected in 2010, 2016.  Current term expires Jan. 2023.
