Complaints and Other Pleadings

The Minnesota Courts' online Glossary defines a Complaint as: A legal written document by a person bringing a civil lawsuit stating his or her claims against the defendant. Also, the written document charging an alleged criminal defendant. These documents are part of the court record.

Models for complaints can be found in treatises on Actions and Defenses at the Law Library and in many county law libraries around the state.
