Memorial Day Program at Minnesota State Veterans Home - Minneapolis

WHAT:

The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs invites the public to the Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis for a Memorial Day Program Monday, May 27.

  • Music will be provided by the Minnesota Police Pipe Band.
  • The posting of colors will be provided by the Memorial Rifle Squad from Fort Snelling National Cemetery with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Joe Bayer, Commander, 5th District American Legion.
  • The invocation will be led by Chaplain John Steiner, Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis, the Commemoration by Chaplain Steiner and Chaplain Joe Yankoski, 5th District American Legion, and the Benediction by Chaplain Yankoski.
  • Greetings will be shared by Larry Herke, Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs; Douglas Hughes, Deputy Commissioner for Veterans Healthcare, Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs; Tom Paul, Administrator, Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis; and Darrell Redepenning, Department Commander - American Legion. 
  • Chaplain (Col. Ret.) John Morris of the Minnesota National Guard will be the keynote speaker.  
  • Refreshments will be served in the Community Room immediately following the program. 

Interviews will be available with Veterans/Residents of Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis.
