Our vision is to continually develop and deliver a safe, dignified and compassionate healthcare system; and provide a nurturing and engaging home environment for Minnesota's heroes
Located on a peaceful, 53-acre wooded campus overlooking the Mississippi River near Minnehaha Falls, the campus of the Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis includes skilled nursing and domiciliary care as well as our Adult Day Healthcare Center. Services are provided by a dedicated staff of professionals who are passionate about providing the quality care our Veterans deserve - in a highly personalized manner. This care is enhanced by the natural beauty of the surroundings and augmented by the many volunteers and community organizations that support the Home with their time and talents.
General Donations support the quality of life for our Veterans and spouses. They ensure that Residents and their families have access to a warm, welcome environment, quality programming and an aesthetically pleasing and peaceful surrounding for those who proudly served and their families.
Recreational activities are important to our Residents. The Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis offers robust and exciting recreational activities including bingo, blackjack, arts and crafts, luncheons, gardening, theme-based parties, community outings, scenic rides and outdoor activities such as fishing trips, and a wide variety of entertainment.
Our Residents environment is a critical part of their daily lives and we ensure that the grounds and furnishings are maintained and updated. The Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis campus is a beautiful facility located on the southern border of Minnehaha Park. This fund supports a homelike environment for our Residents including updated furniture in the common areas, plants and flowers around walking paths, and updated equipment in the rehab clinic and fitness gym.
Chaplaincy and spiritual services are an important part of the Minnesota Veterans Homes. The Minneapolis campus is able to offer a variety of services depending on the preferences of our Residents. Donations to this fund will provide support to this department to maintain and continue to expand the spiritual services offered on campus.
The Domiciliary Program operates a program on the Minneapolis campus that serves 50 Veterans. This fund supports the delivery of recreational programming unique to this population and general needs of this Veteran group.
The Adult Day Healthcare Center is one of two programs in the country that provides services on a Veterans Home campus. Affectionately referred to as the "Vets Club," the Center provides unique social and respite services to Veterans and their families. Donation to this fund will support creative and innovative programming such as Heroes on Horseback, Operation Site and Sounds, recreational programming supplies, and virtual programming that can be delivered to the community.
