The historic truss bridge connecting Minnehaha Park to the Veterans Home is closed to vehicle traffic until further notice

Please enter the campus via the 46th Avenue Entrance through the Wabun Picnic Area

The MN Veterans Home Minneapolis is located at 5101 Minnehaha Ave. South, between the Mississippi River and Minnehaha Creek in south Minneapolis, by Wabun and Minnehaha Falls Parks.

From the North (Downtown Minneapolis, I-94 Eastbound or Hwy 55 Eastbound)

• Take Hiawatha Avenue (MN-55 South) toward Minnehaha Park.
• Turn left on 46th Avenue South (look for signs to Wabun Picnic Area)
• Continue straight into Wabun Picnic Area, following signs for the Minnesota Veterans Homes–Minneapolis.
• Enter the campus at the 46th Avenue Entrance

From the South (Bloomington, Richfield, I-494 or Hwy 77 Northbound)

• Take Cedar Avenue (Hwy 77 North) or I-35W North to Hwy 62 East.
• Exit onto Hiawatha Avenue (MN-55 North).
• Turn right on 46th Avenue South (look for signs to Wabun Picnic Area).
• Continue into Wabun Picnic Area and follow the road to the Veterans Home 46th Avenue Entrance.

From the East (St. Paul, Hwy 5 or I-94 Westbound)

• Take Hwy 5 West or I-94 West to MN-55 West (Hiawatha Avenue).
• Turn right on 46th Avenue South (entrance to Wabun Picnic Area).
• Continue through Wabun Picnic Area, following signs to the Minnesota Veterans Homes–Minneapolis.
• Enter via the 46th Avenue Entrance.

From the West (Edina, Uptown, or Hwy 62 Eastbound)

• Take Hwy 62 East to Hiawatha Avenue (MN-55 North).
• Turn right on 46th Avenue South, following signs for Wabun Picnic Area.
• Drive through the picnic area and follow directional signs to the Veterans Home 46th Avenue Entrance.
