MDVA offers Bronze Star Grave Markers to mark the grave site of any Veteran buried in the state, where permitted. Bronze Star Markers must be requested through your County Veterans Service Officer (CVSO) at www.macvso.org or by calling 1-888-LinkVet (546-5838) MDVA's one-stop customer service line for all Minnesota Veterans and their families.
The federal U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs now offers a permanent medallion to signify the deceased's status of a Veteran. This medallion honors Veterans with a nationally recognized symbol of their service. All Veterans and their families seeking burial markers should order the medallion directly through the VA. The medallion is available in three sizes: 5 inches, 3 inches and 1 1/2 inches. Each medallion bears the inscription "VETERAN" across its top and the branch of service at the bottom.
