Every day is Veterans Day at the Minnesota Veterans Homes. Our mission is to serve Minnesota Veterans and their families through quality healthcare in an environment and community of trust, dignity and sharing.
At the Minnesota Veterans Homes, we not only consider it our duty to provide the highest level of care to those who answered our nation's call, we believe it is an honor. Our vision is to continually develop and deliver a safe, dignified and compassionate healthcare system; and provide a nurturing and engaging home environment for Minnesota's heroes
Overlooking beautiful Lake Superior, the Minnesota Veterans Home - Silver Bay has four distinct neighborhood living spaces for Residents that combine the look and feel of a north woods lodge with all the comforts of a single-family home. Personal choice is a way of life at the Silver Bay Veterans Home. Everything revolves around our Residents and their preferred daily routine. Our Home features a game room, craft shop, four-season porch and private dining areas. Residents are encouraged to enjoy the outdoors in our garden, pontoon boat, club car rides, and by participating in community events.
General and Recreation Fund
The MN Veterans Home - Silver Bay is located just off the shores of Lake Superior and surrounded by the beautiful Northshore landscape. Recreational activities play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of our Veterans, socially, physically and mentally. We offer robust and exciting recreational activities to Residents including pontoon rides and fishing on Lax Lake, Trout fishing on Legacy lake, golf cart rides around town, camping trips and attending multiple community festivals. This fund will also support military organization events like specialty dinners, theme week celebrations and seasonal holiday parties all so enjoyed by our Veterans. Donation to this fund help make the Minnesota Veteran Home - Silver Bay a great place to live.
Lake Superior Charter Fishing Trip
The Silver Bay Veterans Home will be hosting its annual Lake Superior Charter Fishing Trip in June. This is a festive community event that cannot be done without the donations of many. From chartering fishing boats to having a fish fry on shore, donations to this event will provide our Veterans Residents a memorable day on the Lake.
