Other programs available to Minnesota Veterans are The Minnesota Veterans Preference Act and Veterans Employment through the Career Force centers.
The Minnesota Veterans Preference Act (VPA) grants most Veterans a limited preference over non-Veterans in hiring and promotion for most Minnesota public employment positions, as granted in Minnesota Statutes 197.48, 43A.11, and 197.455.
The Minnesota Career Force centers are located through out the state and offer tailored resources to veterans to meet veterans career development needs. Most current or former U.S. military members are eligible for veterans’ employment services. There are many resources available to you if you served or are serving with any of the branches of the military, including as a reservist or National Guard member.
