ST. PAUL, MN – Governor Tim Walz today issued Executive Order 24-09, amending Executive Order 24-05 to activate the State Soldiers Assistance Program Disaster Relief Grants and provide financial assistance to Veterans following severe storms and flooding across the state.

“Recovery efforts are far from over,” said Governor Walz. “Our communities are resilient, but many are facing significant damage. With a focus on rebuilding, the state continues to stand ready to support, working in lockstep with MDVA and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to get impacted communities the resources they need.”

Executive Order 24-09 will allow the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs to provide financial assistance to veterans through the State Soldiers Assistance Program Disaster Relief Grants. The program provides disaster relief to Veterans and their dependents in the counties included in the executive order and additional counties identified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
