State Veterans Cemetery - Preston to Host U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Under Secretary, Chief of Staff During the American Legion’s 100th Anniversary Event

WHAT:

The media is invited to join in a visit with the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery - Preston, officials from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and National Cemetery Administration (NCA). VA’s Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs Randy Reeves and VA Chief of Staff Pamela Powers will visit Minnesota for the American Legion’s National Convention, which is celebrating its 100th year.

This summer NCA selected the Preston Cemetery as the film site for a video to highlight the critical partnership and positive impact state governments have in helping to provide final resting places for Veterans and eligible family members. The video is available to watch here

The Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery – Preston was dedicated in May of 2016 and was the second State Veterans Cemetery after Little Falls. NCA granted the state $10M for construction, helping to provide a final resting place for more than 51,000 Veterans and eligible families in the area.
