Rochester, Minn. – Residents of the Minnesota Veterans Homes – Preston now have the ability to ride around in comfort and style this summer, thanks to a donation from the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) – Mayo Southeast Chapter 28 from Rochester, and the Preston Veterans Organizations.
The Cushman Shuttle 6 Golf Cart comfortably seats six people. Residents of the newly opened Preston Veterans Home can hop on and take in the sights on and near the 15-acre campus.
“This cart is one of the many tangible things that makes our Veterans Home one of the most desirable places for our Veterans to live,” says Preston Veterans Homes Administrator Dave Dunn. “When a Veteran comes here, they experience the highest quality of care, as well as the highest quality of life. We’re located on some of the most beautiful land in this area, and it’s really something to cart around and take in the views.”
“We’re so grateful for this donation,” adds Gabby Kinneberg, the Home’s Public Relations and Volunteer Coordinator. “Families, friends and this entire community are dedicated to our Veterans. They see the need, and they meet the need. Our local Veteran organizations in southeast Minnesota always step up and deliver.”
The golf cart is valued at more than $16,000 and is fully equipped with features that ensure Residents ride in safety and comfort. It was purchased locally from Harmony Golf Cart in Harmony, Minnesota.
