Lisa Frey-Tykward has been named as the new Administrator for the Silver Bay Veterans Home effective April 8.

Lisa is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) with experience managing and improving healthcare facilities across the Twin Cities, South Dakota, North Dakota and northern Minnesota. Her leadership includes oversight of a variety of settings, from a 140-bed nursing home to comprehensive senior living campuses featuring 65-bed and 58-bed nursing homes, multiple assisted living residences and independent living options. Throughout her career, Lisa has specialized in performance improvement initiatives, consistently focusing on enhancing both staff satisfaction and the Resident experience to achieve and exceed operational goals.

Lisa began her career in long-term care in 2020. Prior to this, she served as a Regional Patient Experience Specialist at Sanford Health, bringing with her more than 12 years of expertise in acute care performance improvement and clinical management at Allina Health, Children’s Minnesota and more recently at Fresenius Dialysis. Her foundation in operational leadership is further supported by 18 years in management within the industrial finishing sector.

Lisa earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management at Augsburg College and a dual Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration and Human Services at Saint Mary’s University in Minneapolis.
