NightWare, Inc. was awarded a $100,000 SOT grant to conduct an estimated 50-person clinical trial at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System for Veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)-related sleep disturbance and trauma related nightmares (TRN). The study provided preliminary estimates of safety and efficacy of NightWare’s digital therapeutic system for the treatment of nightmare disorder associated with PTSD and TRN.
NightWare was inspired by a young man’s devotion to his father. Tyler had watched his dad be tormented by debilitating nightmares associated with PTSD after returning from active military duty. As a computer science student in college, Tyler developed a prototype device to help his dad and others who experience nightmares.
NightWare, Inc. founder Grady Hannah saw the potential for Tyler’s idea to help millions of people improve their sleep quality by interrupting nightmares as they happen. With a commitment to make the device available to patients and healthcare professionals nationwide, NightWare, Inc. was founded in 2017. Over the past few years, NightWare brought together the clinical, manufacturing, regulatory, and legal expertise needed to turn the prototype into an FDA-cleared prescription digital therapeutic system.

NightWare has TRICARE insurance coverage for active-duty service members and has been prescribed more than 100 times at military treatment facilities. The journey continues for NightWare to treat as many service members and Veterans as possible who are dealing with this difficult-to-treat and high-impact condition.
