If you are like me, you are wondering how the summer days seem to fly by so fast!  I cannot help but notice how the staff here in St. Paul work diligently during the week but when they return from the weekend, they display that sunburnt redness that we cherish.  The best time to drive in the cities is on a summer’s weekend day.  But avoid Friday evening if leaving or Sunday evening if coming home to the metro.  Summer weekend traffic is bumper to bumper!

There are, however, ongoing events that keep us busy during the week.  Our upcoming Veterans Career Fair is one example.  We are committed to working with other State agencies in creating venues for Veterans to connect with potential employers.  Veterans have consistently proven to be quality employees.  

Also coming up is TPT’s documentary entitled Heroes & History.  The program, co-produced with MDVA, celebrates stories of the heroes who live at our Minneapolis Veterans Home.  While it is common to focus on the present, it has been truly rewarding for me to hear of the service our Homes Residents rendered to our country.  Their stories are impactful and their service should be honored!  The full Heroes & History Documentary premiers later this month.
