A starting cash bank is money placed in the cash drawer prior to the beginning of the bingo occasion. It's used to make change and pay bingo prizes. If your organization only offers prizes based on a percentage of each game's gross receipts, a starting cash bank sufficient to make change is all that's needed. However, if your organization offers fixed prize amounts or progressive game prizes, the starting cash bank should be sufficient to ensure that all prizes can be paid. (Note that although statute allows organizations up to three business days to pay bingo prizes of $200 or more, players generally prefer to be paid immediately.)
