Toni Fairbanks

Outreach & Civic Engagement Specialist

Toni Fairbanks is originally from Dallas, Texas, but now resides in rural Minnesota.   She graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1986 with a Bachelor degree in Computer Science.   After college, Toni worked at Citicorp for 2 years. She then worked in Child Support Enforcement for the next 7 years.  Toni met her husband, Clay, and moved with him to Minnesota where they raised a family and continue to do so.

Toni's first job in Minnesota was working with a deafblind 3 year old boy at his school. She loved that job so much that she continued to work with many different people who are deaf/deafblind and other disabilities for the last 23 years.  During these years, Toni has also been involved in a number of things including, but not limited to, Minnesota Pageant committee. She served on a Commission board for 2 terms. Toni has also worked with DeafBlind Services of Minnesota as a SSP, and worked with Sorenson.  Lately, Toni has been enjoying staying at home, reading books, riding horses, socializing with friends, caring for 5 adopted children, and watching her grandchildren.   Toni fully retired from working with deaf children, although she still finds time to mentor ASL college students.  Toni is now a Commission representative for her rural area.  "

"I look forward to this new opportunity and can't wait to work with you." - Toni Fairbanks
