Autumn Moder grew up in Minnesota in a Deaf family and is a Deaf/Hard of Hearing individual who uses she/her pronouns. She received her primary and secondary education in Maplewood-North St. Paul Public Schools with an ASL interpreter. She now lives in White Bear Lake with her spouse and two cats.
Autumn is a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher in Minnesota Public Schools, specializing in early childhood education. With six years of teaching experience, she is dedicated to fostering language access and communication skills for young Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners. In addition, she serves as an adjunct professor in the Deaf Education program at the University of Minnesota, where she mentors future educators preparing to serve the Deaf/Hard of Hearing community. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with minors in Neuroscience and Family and Social Sciences, as well as a Master’s Degree in Deaf Education—both from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Growing up in a Deaf family, Autumn developed a deep appreciation for Deaf culture, language, and the importance of community. Her personal experiences, combined with her professional expertise, fuel her passion for advocating for equitable access to education and resources.
At the heart of her work is a commitment to breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals to succeed. She believes that early access to language, family education, and strong support systems lay the foundation for lifelong success.
