Please contact Congress about this important issue

On July 20, 2021, the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) sent out an action alert regarding "Medicare Coverage of Hearing Aids."
Medicare is the federal health insurance for:
- People who are 65 or older
- Certain younger people with disabilities
- People with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant, sometimes called ESRD)
Since the passage of the Medicare Act of 1965, Medicare has not covered the cost of hearing aids. This is a barrier to getting hearing health care for seniors. Fortunately, there are legislators and advocates who recognize this pressing issue.
MNCDHH encourages you to contact your legislators and ask them to support Medicare coverage of hearing aids. In HLAA's action alert, they include a sample email and tips you can use to craft your message.
