The Board of Pharmacy hasa NEW online licensing/registrationplatform. Online services are open to the following license/registration types: PHARMACIST, PHARMACY TECHNICIAN.
Pharmacists need to complete at least 30 hours of continuing education (CE) every two years. You may log into your online account to find out how many hours of CE you will need to complete.
Go to the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy website, click on the link labeled “On-Line Service” and log in to your registration record. Once in your account you can click on “Continuing Education”. There you will see how many CE hours you will need to complete.
Login to your online account on the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy website and click on the box that indicates that you have completed your CE hours. If you are unable to login to your account or are having trouble with your account, you can also go to the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy website, click on the Forms tab and select the “Pharmacist Certification of Completion of Continuing Education”.
The Minnesota Board of Pharmacy accepts programs that relate to the practice of pharmacy (see MN Rule 6800.1500).
Courses approved by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
Courses offered by providers that have been pre-approved by the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy. These are providers that have been assigned a provider number.
Courses that are neither ACPE approved or given by providers that have not been approved by the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy, but relate to the practice of pharmacy.
No, at this time the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy does not require any state specific CE. We only require that you complete the required number of CE’s.
If the CE relates to the practice of pharmacy, go to the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy website and click on the Forms tab. Select the form “CE - Approval Form for Non-ACPE Approved Program Attendees”. Fill out the form completely. You must submit the form within 90 days of completing the course, along with your certificate of participation and the course summary, as well as the syllabus or outline. Allow 60 to 90 days for approval.
On the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy website, in the Forms tab, select the form “CE - Application to Become a Minnesota Approved CE Provider”. Submit the requested information at least 60 to 90 days prior to the program date for approval.
If you are audited you will be required to submit proof that you have completed your CE requirements. Follow the instructions from the letter that you receive.
You can hand deliver, mail, fax or email copies of your CE certificates or transcripts. Be sure to include your name and license number in case there are questions on your submission.
