NOTICE: PY2025 US DOE Weatherization Assistance Program State Plan Public Hearing 

The Minnesota Department of Commerce, Division of Energy Resources will conduct a virtual public hearing on April 10 on the State Delivery Plan for the 2025 US Department of Energy Weatherization Assistance Program for Low-Income Persons Application for Minnesota.
 
The virtual public hearing will start at 9:00 am on April 10, 2025, and conclude at the end of public comments. The meeting will be held via the Microsoft Teams Webinar platform. A public hearing is required by the U.S. Department of Energy. The virtual meeting will allow all interested and affected persons an opportunity to participate. Oral or written testimonies may be submitted at the hearing.  In addition, written testimony will be accepted by the Commerce Department until 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Additional written testimony may be submitted via email to weatherization.commerce@state.mn.us or by mail to:

New Component

The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is federally funded through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), with additional support from the State of Minnesota. 

Weatherization Assistance enables income-qualified households to permanently reduce their energy bills by helping to make their homes more energy efficient while protecting the health and safety of family members. In Minnesota, Weatherization services are delivered by 22 Service Providers across the state.

Weatherization Assistance Program Policy Manual

The Minnesota Department of Commerce publishes the Minnesota Weatherization Assistance Program Policy Manual to guide sub-grantees in the implementation of the Weatherization Assistance Program. The Weatherization Policy Manual is updated twice annually on or around July 1 and January 1.

Service Provider Resources

The Commerce Energy Division offers training and technical assistance to service providers in the form of trainings, presentations, and other resources to improve program delivery.

State of Minnesota Pre-Weatherization and Workforce Training
