The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is federally funded through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), with additional support from the State of Minnesota.
Weatherization Assistance enables income-qualified households to permanently reduce their energy bills by helping to make their homes more energy efficient while protecting the health and safety of family members. In Minnesota, Weatherization services are delivered by 22 Service Providers across the state.

The Minnesota Department of Commerce publishes the Minnesota Weatherization Assistance Program Policy Manual to guide sub-grantees in the implementation of the Weatherization Assistance Program. The Weatherization Policy Manual is updated twice annually on or around July 1 and January 1.
