Request Project ID

Prior to beginning an application, schools must first obtain a unique project ID number. IDs should be included on all correspondence including emails and application material. To request an ID, schools should email Commerce at SolarForSchools@state.mn.us, and provide the following for each potential school building / installation site:

School Primary Point of Contact:

  • Name
  • Title
  • Email address

School Site:

  • school/building name
  • school district/university or college system
  • district number
  • office mailing address

You do not need to request a new ID if you are reapplying in a later round than it was originally requested. IDs will remain assigned throughout the lifetime of the program. Applicants are encouraged to email Commerce to verify any existing IDs.
