Lookup Tool

Finding Your State of Minnesota Building ID 

1. Go to the Touchstone IQ Building Lookup Tool. 
2. Type in your building street address in the ‘Street’ box. 
3. From the drop-down menus select ‘Minnesota’ and your building’s city, then hit ‘Search Address’. 
4. In the table that populates, locate your building address. 
5. Your State of Minnesota Building ID can be found within the ‘Building ID’ field. NOTE: every Building ID will start with MN followed by 5 digits. 
6. If you cannot locate your building in the lookup tool, please contact the Help Desk for assistance at support@benchmarkingMN.org or (888) 458-2107. 

Once you have identified your Building ID follow the steps below to add your Building ID to your property in ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager (ESPM).

Adding Your State of Minnesota Building ID to ESPM  

1. Log into ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager and, from your Dashboard, click on a property to add its Building ID. 
2. Navigate to the ‘Details’ tab. 
3. Scroll down to the ‘Unique Identifiers (IDs)’ box on the left, click ‘Edit’. 
4. Within the ‘Standard IDs’ box find ‘Standard ID- State/Province’. From the drop-down menu select ‘State of Minnesota Building ID’ and then type in your building’s corresponding State of Minnesota Building ID into the ‘ID’ box. NOTE: every Building ID will start with MN followed by 5 digits. Ensure you capitalize the MN and do not include spaces or extra characters. E.g. MN12345 
5. Hit 'Save'. 

You only need to attach your State of Minnesota Building ID once. After saving, all future reports submitted for this property will include the attached building ID.
