Who can participate?
The program is available to all Minnesota tourism-related businesses in the public and private sector such as: convention and visitors bureaus, chambers of commerce, tourism bureaus, lodging properties, attractions, outdoor recreation outfitters, theater/performing arts groups, museums, sightseeing companies, destination retailers, golf courses, hospitality businesses and events open to the public. Why participate?
The program is a great way to stretch your marketing dollars, try a new/emerging tactic at less of a risk or get into a prominent publication/run a campaign that perhaps your budget doesn't allow on its own.
How do I purchase a co-op?
When you're ready to move forward with one of our co-op options, contact the representative listed under each program. That person will work with you to get your campaign up and running and answer any questions you may have regarding their program.
What else should I know?
There are Explore Minnesota co-branding requirements for most programs. Please refer to each program's listing for details.
Regional Match funds and Marketing Grant dollars from Explore Minnesota cannot be used to pay for co-op programs.

Beer Dabbler Land of 10,000 Drinks Map & Banner Ads
Beer Dabbler exists to elevate the craft beer industry and connect consumers with craft beer brands to forge lasting bonds, increase consumer education, and broaden brand awareness. Land of 10,000 Drinks Map is an online, mobile-friendly, interactive map of Minnesota’s craft breweries, wineries, cideries, and distilleries. Users can search the map by a specific location or business name or allow their mobile devices to use their location to see what’s immediately around them. From there, they can narrow their search by viewing just breweries, wineries, cideries, or distilleries, and/ or filter by amenities, including food, outdoor seating, live entertainment, tours, and off-sale product availability. These features allow users to discover what’s important to them among Minnesota’s hundreds of craft beverage producers.
Explore Minnesota and Beer Dabbler are teaming up to offer Minnesota Tourism Industry businesses the opportunity to purchase co-op exclusive rates for a Point of Interest (POI) on the map, and/or a Results Column Banner Ad (400x158px) in six or 12-month packages.

Search Based Display utilizes a Cost Per Click (CPC) rate structure that allows for guaranteed web traffic. Additionally, there are no fluctuations in costs from competitors, quality scores or time of year like commonly found on Paid Search campaigns. Through this co-op, you’ll be simplifying marketing efforts and delivering more engaging content that inspires travelers. Each co-op package includes a year’s subscription to Shrpa’s Community Engagement Platform and at least one of Shrpa’s top content creators will travel to your community to experience it for themselves (with guidance from you). This first-hand experience results in amazing written adventures highlighting your destination. Here are the main elements of the program:
Community Page: Highlight all the adventures in your area with a community page. Feature your community, its adventures, and the creators contributing to your adventures on Shrpa.com. Each community page will include the Explore Minnesota logo.
Site Integration: With just a couple of lines of code, you can bring all your adventures back to your website. Set it up once and always see the latest engaging content.
Content Everywhere: With amazing adventures and highly sharable content, you will want to promote your local adventures everywhere. Share on your website, social media, and even your visitors' guide.

Social Media marketing continues to be one of the greatest ways to reach and engage with potential visitors. The Star Tribune can assist in building that engagement and relationship through this Facebook and Instagram co-op. This campaign is priced on a cost per click platform across both social channels. In addition to driving clicks to your website, this type of advertising and engagement has a further effect on generating post comments, likes and shares, conversation and deeper brand advocacy. Posts will be run through the Explore Minnesota Facebook and Instagram accounts, so you can leverage the strong brand that has been built over the years. Your message will also include the hashtag #OnlyinMN, which has been used over a million times on Instagram alone!
Instagram Stories are a unique feature on the platform that allows you to share moments through photos and video, and in this case, in a paid capacity supported by Explore Minnesota. These Instagram Stories will run through the Explore Minnesota Instagram account, driving clicks to participant’s social pages, event pages or website. Through geo, demo and behavioral targeting, this type of advertising will have a further effect on engagement, conversation, and deeper brand advocacy.
If content creation is a need for your business or organization, the Forum Communications team is offering this co-op that provides two custom written articles (including embedded videos and Facebook feeds) plus native advertising. Native is one of the strongest ways to get people to learn about tourism businesses and organizations. Forum Communications has a wide network of targeted sites to place participant articles (based on geography, demographics, and behaviors).
Your native ad will be placed next to organic content online, giving users high-impact, natural exposure to your sponsored content. Each native ad will include either the Explore Minnesota logo (or brand hashtag, #OnlyinMN, in the headline or copy of the ad if the logo cannot be accommodated). The Explore Minnesota logo will also be present at the bottom of the article page, whether on a Forum Communications news site or a web page on the industry participants’ website.

MediaOne’s Connected TV program connects your :15 or :30 second video ad with users via smart TV platforms, gaming consoles or dedicated streaming devices like Roku, Chromecast, AppleTV, AmazonFire and more. MediaOne will guide with a strategy to make the campaign more measurable. All videos need to include the Explore Minnesota logo in the corner throughout or at the beginning and end of each video.

This video marketing co-op offers you the ability to include YouTube in your marketing mix and diversify your reach across platforms. In addition to gaining more exposure, you’ll reach target audiences using criteria such as demographics, geographics, topics, and viewer interests. MediaOne will help manage your channel, upload videos, and of course, promote (targeting includes both website RT and prospecting new people through a custom audience).
The in-stream ads play before, during or after another video. Viewers see the first five seconds of the video and can continue watching or choose to skip. Charges incur only when your video is watched for 30 seconds or to the end for shorter videos. Ads show on all devices including Connected TVs.
