Tourism Council Application Process
Applying to the Explore Minnesota Tourism Council
The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State releases notice of vacancies for various state boards, councils and committees that are accepting applications. All current Explore Minnesota Tourism Council Members remain appointed until a replacement appointment is made or formal resignation is received. All appointments are made by the governor for a term of four years.
Applicants are encouraged to use the online application so that the appointing authority will have access to your information as soon as it is submitted.

- Scroll down to find the Open Positions.
- Choose the correct seat type and click the button that says APPLY.
- Create an application profile according to the system's guidelines.
- Page two of the application will allow you to attach a letter of interest and resume or biography.

In accordance with the Minnesota Open Appointments Law, the Secretary of State acts as an administrator in publishing vacancies, receiving applications, and recording appointments. Applications will be reviewed, and appointments made, by the appointing authorities; questions about specific vacancies and appointments should be directed to the appointing authority. Applications are kept on file for one year.
