Radio Talking Book

Radio Talking Book (RTB) is a free news and information service that broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week to listeners across Minnesota and the nation.

We broadcast daily newspapers, current magazines and periodicals, and a wide variety of books to appeal to a diverse range of interests.

RTB is now available as an Alexa Skill on Amazon devices, and through an app on Apple and Android smartphones and tablets. You can also listen through our online stream. Whether listening online, or through an app, or your smart speaker, you can listen to live programming, or catch up on your listening by choosing the archive. Programs are archived for one week.

Changes to RTB

Beginning October 1, 2020, RTB will no longer be broadcast via radio. This means that to continue to listen to RTB programming, a person will need to access the content through the RTB app, online via the web, or by using a digital assistant like a smart speaker. This FAQ has instructions on accessing these options and a detailed explanation on the decision to move away from the radio.

For other services available through SSB’s Communication Center, please read and complete our application for services form (PDF | Word).
