Anxiety is a fact of life. It’s just a common emotion. Until it isn’t. Landyn Prescott-Miles will help you understand what’s normal, what isn’t and where to get help when you need it.
Learn more during the Anxiety webinar at noon, Wednesday, May 10 . It’s part of May’s Wednesday WorkLife Webinar series. The presentation is live and recorded so you can access it at any time. Other topics in May include decision making and ways to advance your career.
It’s Prescott-Miles’ job to make sure people know how to get the help they need. Not just employees, but our family, roommates, or others in our households. She manages both the WorkLife services and Resolve at work programs.
“COVID messed with mental health and overall well-being in a big, big way—and it continues to do so,” Prescott-Miles observed. “We kept thinking this is going to end. We pinned our hopes on an end date when things would get back to normal. Well, this is it. This is normal.”
We all had anxiety long before COVID. It’s an emotion that can actually help. It alerts us to danger by making us feel uncomfortable. It makes us act so we protect ourselves. But since the COVID pandemic hit, more of us experience intense anxiety that is debilitating.
“Maybe we had coping skills, and then everything shifted,” Prescott-Miles said. “We need to learn ways to identify and deal with our new realities.”
Prescott-Miles and her team pulled together all kinds of information for you about anxiety. Check out the webpage for podcasts, TED Talks, free help, how to schedule appointments, and more.
