Understanding prediabetes: 81% of us with the condition don’t know we have it

If you have prediabetes, it means your blood sugar is higher than normal. This makes it more likely you’ll develop type 2 diabetes. More than one in three adults—about 98 million Americans—has prediabetes. And 81% of them don’t know they have it, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention

With the right steps, you may reverse prediabetes before it becomes type 2 diabetes. The first step is to answer seven questions to find out whether you’re at risk. Use Diabetes Alert Day to act for a healthier you today. Why wait?
