May 15 Retirement Plans Webinar Added

5/10/2024 6:25:57 PM

Your financial future is the topic of a newly added Wednesday Well-being Webinar.

Join Steve Eilen from the Minnesota State Retirement System at noon, on Wednesday, May 15. Register now on the webinar webpage. You’ll get an invitation for your calendar and access to documents about the topic.

You’ll learn about the benefits and features of your retirement plans. These plans include:

  • Pension Plans. Most state employees will continue to get a regular payment from the state when they retire. Where you work and the type of job you have determines which state pension plan is yours. The amount you’ll get paid each month depends on your age, salary, and how long you’ve worked for the state before you retire.
  • HealthCare Savings Plan. This is a tax-free medical savings account. You can use it to pay for eligible health care expenses when you no longer work for the state.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan. Have extra money available when you retire. If you choose to put away money now, it can provide an important source of income in addition to your pension funds when you retire. This plan is open to any full-time, part-time, or temporary Minnesota public employee.
Minnesota State Retirement System (MSRS) administers pension plans that provide retirement, survivor, and disability coverage for eligible state employees. Minnesota state employees, the Metropolitan Council, and many non-faculty employees at the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota State university system are eligible. Learn more on the MSRS website.
