Dec. 31, 2025 is the deadline for spending funds in your Medical/Dental Expense Account (MDEA) and Dependent Care Expense Account (DCEA). You have until Feb. 28, 2026 to submit your expenses to get reimbursed.

Remember:

• The DCEA is a “use-it-or-lose it” account. You can't carry over any money from 2025 to 2026.
• The MDEA is "use-it or-lose-it" for the most part. Some carry-over may be allowed if you meet certain requirements. Otherwise, you forfeit money not spent on eligible expenses by Dec. 31, 2025.
• These accounts are regulated by federal law, so be sure to follow all the rules.
