MetLife Provides Disability Insurance in 2025

MetLife replaces The Hartford/Ochs. 

Only the vendor is changing. The benefit, enrollment, and eligibility rules remain as they are now.

Here’s what this change means for you:

  • If you started a disability claim on or before Dec. 31, 2024 you will stay with The Hartford even after MetLife begins its work with SEGIP.
  • Contact your HR office if you have already scheduled a leave to start in early 2025. You will also find more details here.

Starting Jan. 1, 2025

To use your benefit, register as a State of Minnesota employee on MetLife's website.
