Tips for getting the most out of your benefits next year

11/14/2017 7:50:25 AM

Open Enrollment for 2018 is now closed. But there are still things you can do to take advantage of your benefits. Here are a few recommendations.

Update your beneficiary information. Even if you didn’t change your life insurance policy this year, it’s still important to make sure your beneficiary information on file with SEGIP is current. Update your beneficiary information online.

Update your mailing address. By late December, you will receive 2018 benefits-related information at your mailing address. This includes a welcome packet from the state’s new pharmacy benefit manager, CVS/Caremark, and new medical and dental cards, if you are enrolled in such coverages. (Note that PreferredOne only mails cards to new enrollees and existing members who changed clinic or cost level). Make sure you receive this important information by double-checking the address on file for you in Self Service.

Review our wellness-related programs and services. As your employer, the State of Minnesota cares about your well-being. The list of programs and services below includes a wide variety of assistance, coaching, advice, and much more. For SEGIP members who are eligible, these resources are available year-round.
