Due to a contract dispute between Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota and Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, Children’s left the Blue Cross network effective July 5, 2017. The two sides continue negotiating, though if they fall short of agreement this year, the provider will leave the SEGIP network effective January 1, 2018.

In other words, the dispute between Children’s and Blue Cross does not affect SEGIP members in the 2017 plan year. The State’s contracts with SEGIP plan administrators, including Blue Cross, require that clinics continue in the SEGIP network through the end of the calendar year.
