Many employees take advantage of the pre-tax MDEA (Medical and Dental Expense Account) benefit offered by the State. Here are some year-end tips to help you receive reimbursement for your eligible 2016 medical and dental expenses:

If you are submitting your expenses in December 2016:

You can use your pre-tax Benny Card, or you can submit by paper or online at this link.

If you are submitting your expenses in January or February 2017:

After December 31, expenses incurred in 2016 must be submitted by paper or online. Do not use the Benny Card for any of these expenses (otherwise, it becomes an ineligible expense and must be repaid or subject to taxation at the end of the benefit year). Keep in mind that the final deadline for submitting 2016 expenses for reimbursement is February 28, 2017.
