Credit discrimination has no business in Minnesota.
Under the Minnesota Human Rights Act, banks, loan providers, and other credit institutions are prohibited from discriminating against you because of: your race, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, because you receive public assistance, or other identities under the law.

Examples
Race discrimination: A bank denies a Black customer from borrowing a loan to buy a home because of their race.
Sexual orientation discrimination: A department store refuses to open a credit card for a gay customer because of their sexual orientation.
Marital status discrimination: A loan provider denies a single woman from borrowing a loan for her car payments because they only make loans to married couples.
