When the controlling persons of a nursing home designate an acting nursing home administrator, the designee must secure an acting permit. The temporary permit must be obtained within 30 days of the termination of the previous licensed administrator. The board shall issue a permit to serve a facility as an acting administrator for up to six months from the date of the termination of the previous administrator.
An Acting permit is non-renewable beyond the six months it was issued and is not transferable to another facility.
The board requests identification of a LNHA to serve as a mentor during the acting permit period of time.
Qualifications of acting permit:
To apply for a temporary permit, the facility owner or designee should contact beltss.hlb@state.mn.us for the application form. The application will need to be completed by the Controlling Individual or designee and the applicant.
