This application option is best for individuals who currently hold an active Assisted Living Director license in another state approved as a NAB Residential Care/Assisted Living license.

Application Requirements
- Minimum education of a GED/ High school degree or higher.
- Read and comprehend Minnesota Administrative Rules 6400.6950 to 6400.7095 Department of Health 144G rules relating to the licensure of assisted living facilities.
- Read and comprehend Department of Health 144G rules relating to the licensure of assisted living facilities.
- Be actively licensed as an ALD in another state.
  - Your license must be in good standing.
  - Your license must equivalent based to items outlined in Minnesota Administrative Rule 6400.7005 AND endorsed by NAB.
  - The licensure from another state must meet MN Rule 6400.7045
  - Licensure must be NAB endorsed
Requirements to Achieve Licensure
- Be actively licensed as an ALD in another jurisdiction or state.
  - Your license must be in good standing.
  - Your license must equivalent based to items outlined in Minnesota Administrative Rule 6400.7005 AND endorsed by NAB.
  - The licensure from another state must meet MN Rule 6400.7045
  - Licensure must be NAB endorsed
- Complete any course(s) need for you to meet the requirements stated in MN Rule 6400.7020.
- Pass the MN State ALD exam.
- Pass the NAB Core exam. You may transfer existing scores from another states' jurisdiction to Minnesota.
- Pass the NAB RCAL exam. You may transfer existing scores from another states' jurisdiction to Minnesota.
- Complete the mandatory Criminal Background Check (CBC).

1. Know your application type (i.e. ALD) and basis (e.g. ALDIR)
2. Read and comprehend Minnesota Administrative Rules 6400.6950 to 6400.7095 Department of Health 144G rules relating to the licensure of assisted living facilities.

4. The Board office uses email to connect with applicants. For specific status updates to your application please check the online portal. The comment section can not be replied to by applicants. You must email your inquiry to the BELTSS Board email.
5. Your application is open for 18-months from the day the form is filed with the Board. The CBC included in the application expires in 12 months.
6. You must pay the fee in full before your application is valid. Fee amounts can be found in Minnesota Statutes (2022) 144A.291 FEES. All fees are nonrefundable.
