The Plymouth Human Rights Committee will present a public forum on the 2012 Minnesota Constitutional Amendments on Monday, Oct. 1, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Black Box Theater, Plymouth Creek Center, 14800 34th Ave. N.
The evening will include feature a panel discussion and a question-and-answer period on the two constitutional amendments on the Minnesota general election ballot: Amendment 1) RECOGNITION OF MARRIAGE SOLELY BETWEEN ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN; Amendment 2) PHOTO IDENTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR VOTING.
Panelists will include Kevin Lindsey, Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Human Rights; Kathy Bonnifield, Executive Director, Citizens for Election Integrity Minnesota; and Leah Solo, Political Director, Minnesotans United for All Families. Also invited, but not confirmed, are panelists from the Protect My Vote and Minnesota For Marriage.
In addition to participating in the panel discussion, Commissioner Lindsey will provide a brief overview the Department of Human Rights' role in eliminating discrimination in Minnesota, from investigating discrimination charges to addressing racial disparities in employment, income, education, and other areas.
