ST. PAUL, MN - MDHR Commissioner Kevin Lindsey will be a guest reader at the Reading Oasis at Mower County Health and Human Services at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25th.
Commissioner Kevin Lindsey will visit with children and parents and then read three books: The Sneetches, Teammates (the story of Jackie Robinson and Pee Wee Reese), and On the Day You Were Born.
"Because literacy and early childhood education efforts are so vital to the success of children, it is my pleasure to be able to read at the Reading Oasis," MDHR Commissioner Kevin Lindsey said. "The Mower County community should be commended for its efforts to leverage the delivery of its health and human services programs with the opportunity to expand the love of reading to children."
Commissioner Lindsey was appointed Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Human Rights in February 2011 after previously serving as a civil litigation attorney in the Office of the Ramsey County Attorney. Commissioner Lindsey has 20 years of experience in resolving complex legal and public policy questions.
