The Minnesota Department of Human Rights is the state's civil rights enforcement agency and enforces the Minnesota Human Rights Act. Here is some helpful information:
- The time limit for filing a charge with the Department is one year from the date of the reported incident.
- You do not need to have an attorney to file a charge with the Department.
- At any time, the person filing a charge of discrimination may pursue private legal action.
